The purpose of this site is to provide a database on software created to perform psychometric analyses. The database is organized in three main ways: by paradigm or type of focus, by distribution status, and by the analyses each program performs.
Click on any of the tabs to the left to view an alphabetical listing of software fitting that description. Click on any software in the list to see the complete listing.
Paradigm/Type:
Classical Test Theory: application is based primarily on true-score models.
Item Response Theory/Rasch: application is based on one or more latent trait models. Rasch models can be used by restricting parameters.
Rasch Measurement: application is based on latent trait models designed to achieve specific objectivity.
Latent Structure: application's primary purpose is to analyze the underlying structure of variables.
Statistical: application provides quantitative analysis but is not based on a specific paradigm
Utilities: application provides functions that support psychometric analyses
Distribution Status:
Commercial: The complete application must be purchased from a vendor.
Freeware: The complete application is free to the user.
Open Source: The complete application is free to the user, and source code is available.
